British Museum: The Citi exhibition, Arctic: culture and climate
Working collaboratively with the British Museum, designers OPERA Amsterdam and Beam Lighting Design, this two-stage tender allowed us all to focus on putting sustainability and re-usability at the heart of this exhibition.
We set out together by surveying the existing show in that space, Troy: Myth & Reality which Factory Settings had installed 12 months previously. By making a clear assessment of what materials could be re-used and incorporated in the new design at the development stage, our onsite team helped make the move to the new exhibition economically and cohesively.
The playful design combined multiple complex networks including an 80m long plinth representing the Arctic horizon, with 3m fabric-stretched light boxes exhibiting artefacts from this challenging environment to create an effective experience for the visitor.
This ecological way of working was also very rewarding for all the teams involved.
